Intellectual Capital Communication Standard

The entire capital of a corporation consists of two main components: the financial capital and the intellectual capital. The first is fully described through the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS). The latter could be described by an Intellectual Capital Communication Standard (ICCS).

The ICCS identifies various sub-categories of the intellectual capital, provides indicators and an interpretation. It will allow investors to have a better view on the intellectual capital and make the decision making process easier. Information asymmetry between internal and external knowledge of a corporation will decrease. ICCS provides a table with a score as well as a codified norm of how to explain the various categories of the intellectual capital.

The ICCS will be seamlessly harmonized with the IFRS, which gives corporations a free decision on reporting about the intellectual property.
